I have a master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Spain and I work as a Project Engineer at Bechtel Energy Water Business Line. I have travelled all over the world with Bechtel, and I had the opportunity to live and work in many different countries including Spain, Austria, UK, India, Italy, Korea, UAE, Egypt and Chile.

Although I am now a globetrotter, I am from Delta de l’Ebre, a small rural coastal area in Spain, where I was born and raised for the first 23 years of my life.

I moved to the UK at the age of 23 and I started working at Bechtel as a graduate. 17 years later I am still with them! My career started in the oil and gas sector and a few years ago I moved into the water sector.

My job is especially rewarding because we help solve water scarcity challenges around the world.

My favourite assignments are the ones on site, as I get to see what we designed on paper back in the office.

I have not faced any challenges as a woman in the industry, one of the reasons being because I work for a company that values me for who I am and always supports me.

For those considering joining the industry, I would say: go for it, a world of opportunity awaits!
